The Casey County Board of Education is proposing a general fund tax levy of 47.9 cents on real property and 47.9 cents on personal property.  (This is the same rate as last year for FY26.)

The General Fund tax levied in fiscal year 2026 was 47.9 cents on real property and 47.9 cents on personal property and produced revenue of $3,946,119.

The proposed General Fund tax rate of 47.9 cents on real property and 47.9 cents on personal property is expected to produce $4,216,938. Of this amount $673,714 is from new and personal property. The compensating tax for 2026 is 46.0 cents on real property and 46.0 cents on personal property and is expected to produce $4,049,669.

The Casey County Board of Education will hold a public hearing in the Board of Education Annex, 3609 N US 127, on September 3, 2026, at 6:30 pm ET (5:30 pm CT) to hear public comments regarding a proposed general fund tax levy of 47.9 cents on real property and 47.9 cents on personal property.

The general areas to which revenue of $270,819 above 2026 revenue is to be allocated to instruction.
